I'm concerned that I was out walking and doing fine for the first week after my last taxotere treatment then I started to retain fluid, feel fatigue and sore two weeks post my last treatment.

The doctor said its common and will go away but I feel worse two and half weeks out from my last treatment when I was expecting to feel better.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue?

Thanks for sharing your experience

Pamela

hi Pamela, absolutely, I felt the same way. I retained fluid, needed an extra nap when I could get it, and a little more achy. I recall feeling that way for a couple of months to be honest but it does go away. I ended chemo in June and still felt that way in August. The hot weather didnt help with the swelling. In August I asked for a low dose water pill that I took maybe 2-3 times a week when I needed it, just to help get some fluid off.

Remember chemo side effects are cumulative and at 3 weeks out I was right there with you. Keep walking and moving. Congrats on finishing your chemo. Deb

This happened to me also. Although my fluid retention improved in a few weeks, it actually took over a year to totally resolve, so you might need to be very patient. In the meantime you can ask your Dr for a diuretic or something.

As for the fatigue, that will hopefully improve sooner, but being tired 2.5 weeks out from your last chemo is totally expected. Hope you feel better soon!
