Waiting for results of Skin Punch Biopsy for IBC

Hi everyone, finally had today a skin punch biopsy. I am extremely nervous. Had a really bad panic attack. Has anyone done a skin punch biopsy to detect IBC? The doctor only did two punch one of the 2 oclock and 6 o clock. Hoping it's enough to get a diagnosis if indeed it is IBC. The doctor who is a breast specialist said she has never seen an IBC person with overnight symptoms. She doesn't think its what I have but I feep like something isn't right. Please keep me in your prayers. The waiting is terrible.

I had a skin punch biopsy to diagnose my Paget's. I hope you get benign results, but either way, it's good that you are jumping right on this. I got better at coping over time, but I must admit, it was really hard at first. I think until you have a diagnosis, you can't do much - and doing something is what helps - researching doctors, setting up appointments, etc (even though that is scary at first). Being here helps! Taking walks and appreciating nature made me feel better. I also binge watch a lot of British TV (Netflix has the Great British Baking Show and garden shows that are very calming). I'm not a Brit, so the accents seem calming to me... And if you are diagnosed, consider asking your doctor for Ativan for those nights when you are too wound up or can't sleep. You have to balance research/prep with relaxing activities and living life. Again, I'm hoping for good results for you.

Thank you alto for your response. I truly hope it is benign. This waiting game sucks. I try to keep myself busy but I break down and start to cry. I am at work but my mind isn't here. I will try netflix to see if watching a series can help.

forgot to ask.. how long did it take to get your biopsy results?

doctor just called me!!! She said everything came back benign and that they only saw inflammation. I am still nervous because why would it show inflammation? She said could be because or mastitis. I feel like I need another opinion. I asked for an mri and she said not now due to inflammation it can give a false positive. She said to wait till May.

suzy, I’m not sure I understand-why do you not believe that you had mastitis and that it is resolving

Melissa today the redness got worse. Now its def looking like an orange. I wish I could send you a picture but I am afraid to get kicked out of the group if I do.
