Anyone else experience this? My scar is in the upper outer quadrant of my left breast. Just finished radiation last week. It's not really painful, but there is a definite hardness(lump?) at my lumpectomy scar. I'm thinking maybe this is scar tissue? Wondering if it's something to call my BS about? Thanks!

I think that this is probably scar tissue, but I think that if you are concerned about it you should call your BS just for peace of mind.

Definitely scar tissue. Were you told to massage the area? That can help break/soften it up. If it helps, I still have hard areas on the side I had surgery on three years ago. I really don’t think about it unless I happen to bump into it.

Thanks Inger. I was never told to massage the area, but I will start now

I also have it --- it's like a long hard sausage under my scar. My surgeon said it will go away. She also said to massage it. Isn't this fun !

Hi Ladies. I finished chemo in December, had lumpectomy in January, full pcr, just finished last week 6 weeks of radiation. Went to oncologist Monday, she felt around all was good. Last night I felt a lump right under my scar, near corner of it. It is close to skin surface, don't have to press to hard to feel. I am freaking out. Called surgeon out of town, see her on May 9th.
