I had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed in Nov 2018, with cancer in the left breast. Although I have a family history, genetic testing could not find the common link. I have had three previous biopsies and a ductectomy. MRI done before surgery showed something light up on the right, but was not cancer, making my decision to have the double with expander reconstruction. Things went well on the left side where the cancer was but it was and still is a nightmare on the right. They were unable to put expander in the right due to some vascular spasm and thin skin. I had an emergency surgery the same day as the original surgery because of an arterial bleed, which caused some skin to die, which led to another surgery a month later to remove the dead skin. They had to pull the skin really tight to close which caused and open wound at the "T" part of the incision which took almost two months to heal. I will have the implant put in the left in about two months and have been given an option to have liposuction with fat grafting to the right in hopes of making the skin thicker to hopefully someday have an implant put in. I am wondering if anyone has had this procedure and how it worked?
