Triple Neg BC (15 yrs ago) & now cysts

I am a 15 year Triple Negative BC survivor. Noticed small lump near BC site. Just saw my BC doctor today. He did an Ultrasound of Area and found multiple small fluid-filled cysts. Told me not to worry but wants me to have an MRI “just to double check”.

Now I am freaking out! The whole consuming worry thing has taken over again.

Anyone else here had these fluid cysts after BC? I’d like any insight into why the appeared, or personal experiences with cysts in BC breast

Hi CrazyCatLover! Goodness, we can certainly understand why that would concern you, we're so glad you followed up with your doctor! It sounds like your doc isn't very concerned, but it's good that they ordered an MRI just to be sure. You're in the right place for support as you wait for your test and results, please keep us posted on how it goes!

I found a small bump under my arm, a month or two after finishing rads. Had it checked immediately and was diagnosed with a cyst. Since then, I’ve moved. I mentioned the bump to my new MO and got sent for u/s immediately again. It’s still considered a cyst, no change in size. Because it’s just there, in the back of my mind, my radiologist put in orders to have it checked in 6 months. If it grows, we might have a reason to remove it. So, this does happen and I hope very much that you get confirmation of a benign cystvia your mri.

I’m scheduled for an MRI & Mammogram next week. Just to double check that these are really simple fluid cysts. Keep fingers crossed!

CrazyCatLover, I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. I did get thick white patches that turned out to be new weird scar tissue.

Have you had anyone at your clinic tell you that you that you can't continue to see an oncologist because you're 15 years out? Stanford is telling me that they can no longer see me because of my history of not recurring in 10 years and my oncologist left. There are many others of course.

This may be a silly question, but having now had three oncologists - surgical, medical, and radiation - who is considered the primary one? Who do you go to with questions not related to a particular specialty like surgery, chemo, or radiation? I'm guessing medical, but is that everyone's experience?

CrazyCatLover, seems like your "BC doctor" is the MO. Is that right? Anyone else?

    Thanks!

I just got results back from MRI, Mammogram, and Ultrasound. Everything is normal! The lumps I can feel are called Simple Fluid Cysts. All the tests showed that the cysts are just fluid filled. My BC doctor said everything is fine & no need for further testing or biopsy. Thank God!

I do want to respond to an earlier post: I am 15 years out, but still see many doctors. Once a year - my Oncologist (even though the original guy retired & now I see the lady who took over his practice). I also go every 6 months to my Breast Doctor (the one who diagnosed and did my surgeries). Mammogram yearly.

It is very important to continue to see your doctors every year
