How painful is exchange of implants?

I had a masectomy 15 years ago and wonder how painful is it to have your implant exchanged for a new implant? Is it simimlar to removal of expander with exchange of permanent implant? That surgery for me was very painful but I wonder if plain excange is less painful and easier? Please respond. Thanks so much. Racheal

    I had my implant replaced after 18 months...the exchange of implant surgery was very smooth, little pain (only Tylenol), no bruising like I had from expander to initial implant. Very happy as at my age, expect to live long enough to have to exchange these implants at some point...like 10-15 years. TT

    If I exchange without implants wouldn't that even be quicker and even less pain as this is an option I am considering as well.

    If I explant xchange withou exchange implants wouldn't that even be quicker and even less pain as this is an option I am considering as well--explant to flat.
