Bruising after Biopsy

I had a mammogram biopsy last friday (3/15). A couple of days after, i ddeveloped a large bruise where the biopsy was done. It gradually got worse and is a deep purple with some yellowing starting to develop. I'm scheduled for a lumpectomy on April 4th. I'm so afraid that it will postponed if the bruise does not go away or get better. Did anyone else develop bruising after your biopsy?

I think most of us end up “technicolor” for quite a while afterwords. I can’t remember anyone here havng surgery postponed because of bruising

Thank you MelissaDallas. To have to go through the biopsy and now see this large, deep purple bruise on the side of my breast is quite something

The bruising will follow gravity and eventually kind of pool at the bottom of your breast most likely too

Nah, they probably won't postpone your surgery because of bruising!!! I had a messy MRI biopsy to check an area on the opposite quadrant three days before my lumpectomy. The biopsy resulted in a large hematoma and widespread bruising. They still did surgery on time.

If it helps, I was told I would absolutely develop bruising after my biopsies and that it wasn't a big deal.

I had terrible bruising after all my biopsies. It does go away though, I promise. It can take a few weeks or more. My reconstruction surgery was postponed a week due to my PS being worried about blood flow, but I wouldn’t think bruising would be a factor with a lumpectomy.
