Anesthesia and your period...

Please excuse me if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any info. I'm scheduled to have my exchange surgery on Monday. I'm also on my period starting today. Will this affect the anesthesia or surgery in any way? I've been waiting for this surgery for years so really don't want to have to reschedule. Thank you!

When I went in for my quadrantectomy (general anesthesia), I was just finishing up my period. I told the nurse and she said it didn't matter. They gave me a special pair of underpants to put on under my gown.

No big deal. They can put a pad on or under you if they need to

When I had breast cancer the first time in 2003, I had surgery the second day of my period. No negative effect from surgery or anesthesia, but was annoying because you can't wear a tampon during surgery.
