CT scan

Would anyone know if I had CTscans of bones, then one of body brain and they only found the mass in my lung and the lung specialist wants a PET scan and MRI could that mean they could find more. Oncologist has already told me I have Mets and cant understand why the lung specialist is sending me for the PET scan and MRI but she doesnt want to step on his toes. Now I'm worried they might find something else. My doctor already told me she is starting me on Ibrance. So I really hope nothing else shows up. I had extemely high anxiety with the waiting and not knowing and I feel I'm getting those feeling back again with the upcoming PET scan and MRI. Has anyone had any experience with this?

thanks pip

my bone mets in the sacrum were found when looking for bulging disc. My onc immediately scheduled a pet/Ct scan from the the cap of the skull to midthigh to look for further mets. Nodules lit up in the lungs and showed the tumors in the back but everything else even lymph nodes were clear. My orthopedic, pain management dr, and radiologist, and oncologist work together and are in the same system so it's very easy for me. Be happy for the pet because it will give the doctor a base to work from to gauge your progress of treatment. Hang in there. I have a pet/Ct every four months to monitor the cancer and knock it down when it rears its ugly head. Hugs and peace. Jo

They will likely use PET scans to monitor progress of treatment, so I agree that this will give them an accurate comparison. Sorry you are dealing with this.
