Letrozole side effects

HI I'm new to the forum and feeling desperate for advice/help... I'm 53 years old and last August had a mastectomy for a grade/stage 1 tumour, low aggression and only estrogen positive. Outcome of surgery has been good with 1st stage of reconstruction with expander (which is painful but bearable). 2nd surgery was delayed due to hospital problems and ive now had the expander for 8 months with no date for the 2nd surgery, which stresses me.

i was told to take letrozole (femara) daily and delayed taking it because I also take cortisone for asthma and was worried about bone denstiny and wanted to research my options. When I saw the oncologist she was annoyed I hadn't taken it straight away and said I risked bone cancer if I didnt take it. She didn't really hear me.

So I started it and after 3 weeks I've stopped for 5 days. I felt terrible with headaches constantly, insomnia, memory and concentration were awful (and i run my own business so need my head to be clear) nausea and pain in my feet and thighs. I felt tired all the time and crying ridiculous amounts. I feel better physically even after 5 days without it.

I was fine after the surgery and positive but now i feel confused, highly stressed and anxious about everything, and I don't know what to do for the best.

Hi there. So sorry you are experiencing side effects from Femera. I would speak to your MO about switching to another aromatase inhibitor or change manufacturers of the one you are taking now. Do NOT let doc deny your side effects! I agree that QOL matters too!
