Follow up care after treatment

Hi,

I thought I would ask this questions to those people living in BC as that’s where I am.

I finished my Taxol and HERCEPTIN in late December 2018 (on Letrozole as well) I saw my oncologist in late January...and I guess I find myself with questions regarding taking Supplements or Complementary therapies...and no one to see.

It makes me feel like the Cancer Agency isn’t interested in me unless I get a recurrence??? ..they say my GP will follow my care and yet my GP doesn’t know the answers to my questions either and is too busy to listen to explanations etc.

It frustrates me that the Cancer Agency doesn’t provide some guidance regarding prevention or recurrence ...or an opportunity for questions. I find myself calling the Cancer Agency Pharmacy with supplement questions but the information I get is limited.

Just wondering if I’m the only one who feels this way...

Thank you Eily

There is an excellent book called Life Over Cancer by Dr Keith Block. It is more geared toward butition and complimentary therapies during treatment but the principles apply after too. A naturopathic physician, especially one who cares for cancer patients, would know about these things too.

hi, thanks for your quick reply.

I am reading whatever I can get my hands on..so I have ordered this book for my Kindle and will have a look...seems like lots of good reviews.

I am also reading another book..How to Starve Cancer, by Jane McLelland.

I have a Naturopath in mind who I think I’ll see in April..(going on vacation!)

As I’m still on Letrozole...everyone I’ve spoken to says that other supplements I take may interfere with its action.

    ThNks for the book recommendation!
