Is my treatment sufficient for Recurrence free survival
Hello everyone
I am very much worried about my recurrence free survival. Actually my onco was very confused about my treatment plan as which chemotherapy therapy Regimen should I get. Same was the confusion with my Rads.
I got TC * 4. Is it sufficient, mean a lot of people say I have not got standard anthracycline based treatment ? I'm not confident.... Can I do something now to compensate?
I also completed a only a minimal 40Grey radiation dose after too much of confusion too. Ahhh... Will it work or just a tick mark??
Any expert out there. Please help, please comment..

Why are both your doctors confused? Have you considered a second opinion?
-
Yes I did. I should rather say most of them put the decision on my shoulders. I, being worried, could not make a good decision.
Now that I am done with everything, I am not confident that its perfect treatment..

If your doctors weren't able to single out the perfect treatment for you, don't put pressure on yourself to have done so!
If they offered you the choice, it means to me that they were satisfied that the options they gave you were all satisfactory, basically equivalent, and all sufficient to give you the best shot at recurrence-free survival. Even though you were worried, I bet you made the best decision for you. It is very normal to have some emotional struggling and fall out after treatment. It does NOT mean that you actually did anything suboptimal.
There are no guarantees with this damn illness, and if you recur, it doesn't mean you made the wrong call. If you don't recur, it doesn't mean you made the right call. It's just how the arbitrary fates play out. You did your best at the time under the guidance of competent doctors. Go you!

Salamandra is right. No matter which treatment you choose, there are no guarantees. You made the best decisions you could with your medical team, and that was based on the information you had. You can throw everything at it and still have a recurrence, or skip various pieces and live cancer free. We do what we can do reduce our risk. You have done that. I did have a recurrence, and knowing everything I do now, I would not change one thing in the course of my treatment.
Some people are not great candidates for anthracyclines because of the potential for cardiac damage. There are many, many factors that go into deciding on which chemotherapy drugs to use...and whether to use chemo at all.
You might consider putting your diagnosis information in so that it shows in your signature. It allows people to understand your situation (diagnosis, treatments, etc) while commenting.
Best wishes!

Hi
Thanks everybody for your support.
I think everyone is contented with what's done with them.
I'm stage 2.. I think I still have time to have some treatment done if it should be done .. Or I haven't made a better decision...
I just want to do anything which is possible to get rid of it..
