hello,

I have been lucky to be 13 years free of cancer until now. I have recently been diagnosed with mets to the skull, spine, and ribs. I am ER positive and 66 years old. Can anyone honestly give me a prognosis with this particular type and tell me your story if you have it. Please no candy coating for me. My doctor wouldn't give me a time frame and I do know it depends on each individual, but I just want an idea.

Please!

Thank you,

The “bone mets” thread might be helpful for dealing with the specifics but as far as quality and quantity of life from now on, it’s tricky. Bone only mets can cause pain or not and can be tolerated for many years (I think 17 yrs is the longest I recall) but you could also face further progression like liver, lungs, brain. Staying active is my best recommendation, I’m 2 1/2 years out with bone & brain mets and doing fine 😀
