After I complete radiation (4 weeks worth) my doc is prescribing me Anastrozole, I googled it and it said drinking may cause vomiting and nausea? Does anyone drink in moderation of course while taking this, if so any bad side effects? I don't drink daily but enjoy a martini or two when we go out on the weekends. Or sometimes a couple glasses of wine with dinner while we are out. Im not a daily drinker but do it enjoy it socially. Crossing my fingers that this too doesn't have to change? Please share your thoughts and experiences ladies?

Well, I have been on anastrozole for over five years and never experienced any nausea or vomiting or any other GI symptoms because of it. I don't drink hard liquor but a small glass of red wine with dinner is a norm for me.

    Everything in moderation...

    Good luck to you.

For me it triggers hot flashes to all out night sweats if I overdo it. I try to keep to just a few glasses of wine a couple of times a week.  Anymore than that, I'm sweating!   I have no gastro issues from the anastrozole.

holy moly if I couldn’t drink after all of this there would be hell to pay!

Give it a try. Like the others, the sugar in alcohol exacerbates hot flashes for me but even this has lessened in the two years I’ve been on an AI

I've been trying to cut back on alcohol just from a calorie standpoint but of course I've had some fun evenings since starting Anastrozole and no tummy issues. FWIW--many (most?) of the women I know who are on it take it earlier in the day, with food.

Toy - 😂 drinking in moderation is just fine! Red wine is a good choice when dining out. I drink about 3-4 glasses a week when dinning out. Sometimes it gives me s little headache though when waking up.
