Hi all, I had my biosy came back benign Im very grateful for that. I consulted my doctor to get it removed so that I can skip follow ups (give me too much anxiety).

However, my doctor said even if I get it removed I still need 6 months check ups to see if anything else pop up? Also I read on google women in those two year follow up is at high risk for subsequent breast cancer.

Is it true? Im very anxious right now and any insight would be deeply appreciated.

Sincere thanks from a worried 24(F)

What benign condition did your biopsy show? Most benign conditions don't increase your risk for cancer and have no increased risk over the next two years (or at all).

You can always see a different doctor for a second opinion but chances are your risks remain very, very low and are the same whether it stays in or comes out.

    Hi all

Thank you for dropping by and making me feel better

To mustlovecat: first they suspected I have a papilloma so they did a biopsy but it turns out not to be papilloma. All information Ive got is that its benign an come back in 6 months. I asked my physician what type of benign growth ive got (like fibroadenoma maybe), but she said there are benign breast lumps that dont have any special feature to be classified into subtypes. Also she said this lump isnt considered a risk factor, but tell me I need check ups every 6 months

The pathology report says: "The presence of benign epithelial cells and stromal cells". Conclusion: Consistent with benign finding.

Any idea what it is ladies? I'm so grateful I found this community. It has been tough for me...
