So my MRI biopsy revealed a second cancerous spot in the same breast and this time it is different cancer and was classified as triple negative. Freaking out bc it isnt a defined mass but more of the spiderweb enhancement etc.

My first tumor (lump that I found) came back as Estrogen+ and HER2+ so it looks like two different cancers in the same breast and it forces as masectomy, My medical oncologist is one of the best but even he said this makes it complicated.

Please tell me it is going to be ok and I am going to survive this, I need to hear success stories, because I am freaking out and have a 10 year old son (divorced) from his dad and if something happens to me he would take my son away completely from my family.

Hi Iamb22. I cannot give you a success story - yet! - because I was just diagnosed myself in December and am in the middle of chemo, but I know from reading these boards that you are not the only one with two different types of cancer in the same breast. You may want to look around the different forums and topics to see if there is already one there for women with just that situation. Or better yet you'll start getting responses here. Just don't lose hope!

lamb - I also had 2 different types of cancer - 1 TN tumor and 2 Er+/HER- tumors. My TN wasn’t discovered until my lumpectomy, hiding behind the other tumors. It was devastating. Then the mind starts going crazy - how can it not be worse to have two kinds of BC in one breast?

I scoured these threads. Yes, others are out there! No, it doesn’t mean you’re doomed. So many long term survivors out there.

You are in the hardest time IMO. Try to breathe. I got a prescription for Ativan to help with anxiety and sleep. You do you. Once treatment is started you’ll get more confident. Come here for support.

You’ll have good days and bad. You’ll scream and cry, be afraid, but you’ll be happy too. Fight this with your all.

    Hugs

I also had two different BC types, one was TN.  Chemo worked, for now. There is great news on Immunotherapy for TN's that just came out, so be sure to look for that. CNN had an article and so does CURE magazine. I came on here to see what information is posted already and have not found any yet. Also, 2 different BC's can be indicative of a gene mutation, so consider getting that checked. I am PALB2. It made a difference in my surgical options which went from lumpectomy to mx and also I took the ovaries, tubes, uterus. cervix out. Best thing I did for peace of mind and the surgeries were not difficult to recover from.

Good luck to everyone! Keep the faith - Immunotherapy could be as close to a cure as we get for awhile, and is very hopeful!
