First time posting, I am a 46 year old woman. I had a double mastectomy on Oct 18th with tissue expanders placed at surgery time. I had reconstruction January 4th. Less than a month later my left breast became very hard and was visibly higher. I had emergency surgery to rule out infection etc. It was found that the acellular matrix had just fallen apart. has anyone ever experienced anything like this. My doctor seems baffled and am feeling quite stressed and sad. I had to have my left implant removed and a smaller one put in because of the amount of tissue they had to remove . My doctor said to wait at least year before attempting to correct the siza issue.
