LB13: thank you for sharing your experience with us. Hope all is going well right now with your radiation. We are here for you chat anytime!

Your cancer was similar to mine. Little different but similar stage. You caught it early!! That’s good!

I too have cancer in my extended family. I remember the two week or more waiting period for my genetic test. 😩I did the blood test. Still had to wait. Even with the cancer in my extended family, it turned out to be negative. Keep us posted on how that goes if you don’t mind sharing.

Hoping all your treatments go well!

I just realized I never answered this after my genetic testing. I had 78 genes tested and do not have any 'bad' ones. Thank God! I finished radiation on June 9th with a serious set of oozing burns that took a bit to heal. I started Tamoxifen on June 24th. 3 1/2 months in on Tamoxifen - and I have some side effects - but managing so far. I still have mild swelling in my radiated breast and it is warm and pink all the time. The area where my lymph nodes were removed is itchy - a lot.

I try NOT to live my life with worry and fear - but the possibility of ever going through this again has me thinking every ache or pain is cancer rearing it's ugly, ugly head. I tell myself all the good things.... caught it early, low type Luminal A, low mammaprint score, stage IA..... all that - but my mind races. Anyone else in my boat??

    Hi LB13:

Thanks for letting us know how testing and treatment went. Hope all is going well for you post treatment.

Yes I struggle with those “mind racing” times too when I have pain. I get diagnostics every 6 mo so that tends to put my mind at ease. And the further away from dx I get without another recurrence I seem to be less concerned about pain. But I’m not sure I will ever not have thoughts of concern. Time will tell.

I hope all goes well during your recovery. Have a wonderful weekend
