I never thought I'd be here but I am. I had a stereotactic biopsy on Friday due to an architectural distortion found on 3D mammo. No ultrasound correlate. Biopsy was not fun. I didn't numb well and the lesion was mid depth. I'm 41 with 4 children, ages 12 - 21 years of age.

I've done a lot of reading on the internet. It seems as though even if its benign, it will probably be advised to be removed. I'm extremely stressed about the C word but I'm more stressed that I have a trip overseas planned with my daughter and her school choir the end of March.

Any words of encouragement would be great. I need to snap out of the downward spiral I'm being sucked into.

I was in your shoes not too long ago. It's really scary! I am 31 with 3 kids, so I understand how unnerving it can be! The good thing about a biopsy is you'll know either way and you wont have to stress yourself out worrying any longer! When I found my lump, I googled and searched and researched and worked myself into a frenzy for almost TWO YEARS. Once I found out for sure, it was almost calming! No more what ifs.

Even though the C word is the one we all fear, treatment and advances in medicine have come such a long way! It's not the death sentence it used to be. Try to wait until you get your results to keep reading online. Before you know the answer, anything could be the answer....and that's what's scary! You may be reading and researching for nothing! Best of luck to you and keep us updated!
