edited January 2019 in Not Diagnosed But Worried

Hello everyone!

I have been called for follow-up imaging after my annual mammogram. I was not initially concerned about it because I know it's a common precaution. But then I made the "mistake" of comparing my new results to the last ones.

It seems like the same spot on my right breast has changed from asymmetry to distortion...has any one else has this happen?

In July 2017, my results read:

IMPRESSION:
Asymmetry within the superior right breast with recommendations as above. This asymmetry is seen 6.1 cm from the nipple.
BI-RADS CATEGORY 0: Need prior imaging or additional imaging.

Comparison was made to prior examinations performed 3/18/2016 and 10/16/2014.
Mild fluctuation in multifocal cysts is evident over time when compared both to the
mammographic and sonographic images.
No pathologic lesion was identified.
ACR BI-RADS Category 2: Benign findings.

Now in January 2019, my results read:

The patient's breast tissue is hetereogeneously dense, which
could obscure detection of small masses (51-75% glandular).
Area of possible architectural distortion within the lateral
aspect of the RIGHT breast, located 6 cm from the nipple. The
remainder of the study is stable and unremarkable bilaterally.

RECOMMENDATION:
Diagnostic mammogram of the right breast.
Ultrasound of both breasts.
2-D Spot magnification cc view of the area of possible
architectural distortion within the lateral aspect of the RIGHT
breast. 90 degree lateral view of the RIGHT breast. Bilateral
complete breast ultrasound.

Is this change in readings common?

Thank you.
