Hey y'all!

I just need somewhere to write to because this entire situation has been exhausting and I have gotten no answers.

At the beginning of December, I began having breast pain on the right side. There were no lumps at the time, though there was a red area. I made an appointment with my GYN and was treated for mastitis, despite not nursing in over 4 years. The redness and pain went away with the antibiotics and things went back to normal until just after Christmas.

I started getting breast pain again, but this time without the redness. My (now former) GYN begrudgingly sent me to a breast specialist after telling me that every woman has breast pain and learns to live with it, maybe I should lose some weight, and that it was probably nothing.

The BS said he didn't feel anything, but stranger things have happened, so I was sent for an ultrasound and mammogram on 1/17. The radiologist refused to do my mammo because of my age (27), but okayed the ultrasound. I was told everything came back normal and nothing was seen.

On 1/18, I developed two lumps in the 10 and 11 o'clock positions in the right breast. I saw the BS on 1/21 who confirmed there were two palpable lumps. He then ordered another mammogram at another imaging location and an MRI w/wo contrast to be done on 1/25.

On 1/23, two more lumps appeared in the same area as the first two, one in the 9 o'clock position and one right next to the one at 10 o'clock.

On 1/25, I went and had the mammogram done and was told before I left that things looked okay and there was nothing of note. I then went to the MRI appointment and was told that my results would be available to the BS on Monday.

Today. I received the call from the BS that my MRI showed nothing. No cysts, abscesses, masses, or anything else. He asked that I monitor them and to call if they got bigger, otherwise he will see me in two months.

None of my reports are available to me yet because apparently they take a week to process to the patient portal.

I'm completely at a loss because I now have 4 palpable lumps in one breast and every bit of my imaging has come back clear.

The negative predictive value of MRI + ultrasound + mammogram is very high and in combination with your age favor a benign etiology. Follow your doctors' recommendations and let us know what these lumps turn out to be.
