I had lchf diet 30lbs weight loss in April - may.

July to Dec ate like anything and gained back.

First time mammo in December. Age 42. Idc 1.4 cm and estrogen and progesterone +, her2-.

Pcos since first period. 1 - 3 periods per year until age 40. Last year periods were every month and prompt.

Does pcos and intentional rapid weight loss cause to release more estrogen and acting on the dormant cancer cells and activating up.

I haven't read it wakes dormant cells but the flood of estrogen can sure fuel the active ones

Interested to see others answers & experiences.

In the past 7 years I've lost (& regained) a tremendous amount of weight, during a few different episodes, by using Phentermine. You may be on to something. I wondered if that contributed to my 98%ER tumor.

I really doubt any gains or losses in the last year would have anything to do with it. Very few cancers grow that quickly.

My cancer is estrogen driven. I am post menopause and thus estrogen made in fat tissue. In 2018, I purposely lost 43 lbs and now have been steady for months. I am 5’9 and weigh 128 lbs approx. I did so by significantly removing sugar and carbs from my diet. I also fast 13 plus hrs daily. Basically I eat between noon and 6 pm. What I am NOT doing is starving to reduce weight, but instead packing as much value into my diet. What you eat matters. I also exercise 2 hrs daily.

Over the past few months, I have read that reducing calorie intake is actually very beneficial as a cancer preventative and reduces the speed of cancer reoccurring. A terrific book I am reading that talks about the intricate balance of our body system is called Mitochondria and the Future of Medicine. It is not an easy read. Another very good read is Tripping over the truth.

    Our human body is amazing.

Same here. I make a point of eating 5-6 fruits or veggies per day and exercise 30 min for 6 times a week..I actually saw a study showing that women who did this, had significantly less recurrence of bc.

And this was controlling for obesity, too.
