Hi - this is my first time posting. I’m high risk, as my mother passed away from breast cancer 2 years ago. I recently had a routine mammogram along with a follow up ultrasound and breast mri. Mammo and US only picked up clusters of cysts but MRI found suspicious mass. Mass can’t be seen on mammo or US so I’m scheduled for a MRI guided biopsy next week. I’m wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar. My findings were:

FINDINGS:

Left breast: There is an angular slightly spiculated enhancing mass with plateau kinetics in the left upper outer quadrant at about the 1 o'clock position. It measures about 7 mm in diameter. Tissue sampling is recommended. Because an about 50% of the cases, and ultrasound directed by MRI due to a specific location can showed lesions that were not seen on the original ultrasound, MR directed (Second Look) ultrasound ultrasound is suggested prior to scheduling a biopsy to determine what the is the best modality to guide it.

Scattered nodular glandular enhancement elsewhere in the left breast.

Right breast: Scattered nodular glandular enhancement. No abnormal contrast enhancement worrisome for malignancy.

Lymph nodes: Normal bilateral axillary lymph nodes. No evidence of lymphadenopathy along the internal mammary chain on either side.

Thanks for any help you can offer while I’m impatiently waiting for my biopsy.

I am so sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I lost my father to a car accident and it was very painful and took me very long to get to a point in my grief that I could smile about my memories of him without crying. I wish you the very best in your healing.

I am a cancer survivor but I have Palb2 Gene and I am very active in trying to prevent a reoccurance . My primary focus is a whole foods diet rich in cruciferous , Flax seed and cooked mushrooms. I make Broccoli sprouts on my counter and throw them in my green salad everyday. They are cheap and easy to make in jars and you can have a fresh batch in a few days. Also Hopkins makes a Brassica tea that I am going to order because I need some portable greens. Another very easy way to do this is to buy "cruciferous crunch" salad mix from Trader Joes.

This is my favorite go to Recourse for dietary prevention. Just go to the search and watch everything on Breast Cancer. Its very well researched and very good. If you need help or advice we have a great thread in the lifestyle section about whole foods and recipes. Also feel free to pm me.

Thabk you for the information and congrats on being a breast cancer survivor. I'm sorry you lost your father, I unfortunately understand that as well as my dad died 3 months before my mom from complications after a heart attack.

I watched one of the videos and will look more at them when i get little more time. I love broccoli anyway lol
