Losing my mind...
So this has been going on since mid-December, 2 mammograms, scattered calcifications, benign biopsy then an mri for a separate issue being dense breast tissue (identified on my report as heterogenously dense). Mom had breast cancer 2 years ago, stage 1 IDC, lumpectomy and radiation.
Anyway, still waiting for my MRI results, called just a little while ago and the nurse sounded like they are in but the Dr. is in surgery, said she would send her a message to review and get back to me. I said so you can't tell me anything and she said she didn't know without the Dr reading the report. Which she is the same nurse that was in my biopsy and did seem a little new.
I'm trying my best to stay calm but just worried with false positives and worse.

Call the place that did the MRI and ask for a copy of the report by email. You have the right to get it.

I just called, they said they're just a testing site and I'd have to get it from my Dr. office, I suppose I could call them back but I don't know if I would know how to read it either.

I'm new to all this, too, but just wanted to say, hang in there. Find something to distract yourself with until you can get the results. Go for a walk, read a good book, watch a movie that you've been wanting to see. If you have a hobby, crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, painting, try to get engaged in your hobby. Best of luck!

Thanks, I'm at work right now, I usually exercise after work but I'm getting my hair done tonight. I just am tired, stressed and filled with anxiety.
-
Please keep us updated. I hope you get good results!

I called this morning and the nurse said that the Dr. needs to talk to the radiologist so still no answers. Anyone have any ideas?
-
please try to concentrate on the now and your work. Dense breast can muddy the water. The radiologist reads and writes the report and sometimes gets others to consult on the tests. Better they are safe than sorry. Please let us know how it works out. Hugs!!!! J

Thank you Jo, I am trying to work and not think about it. A friend of mine who is a nurse said that positive results are flagged as urgent and the fact that we are basically going on day 3-4 here and I don't have results, I'm hoping maybe that's a decent sign? I just need an answer!

I can tell you that I have had fabulous results w my last two lab results, but I was terrified both times because it took so flipping long to hear back.
They also want to rule out having made an error before giving out a result. Especially if they give a good result, they do not want to be wrong.
But I agree -- maddening to wait.

That's good to hear and good points. I just really hope to hear something today. How long did it take you to get your results back? I don't have an online access or anything so I really can't get any info but the nurse promised to call me back today to give me an update.
