Hi there,

It has been a few years since I had a mammogram. My past tests have always been clear but I would say a year now I have swelling under my left underarm. You can see it and it almost looks like there are other spots starting to swell as well. Otherwise, the spot that you can clearly see is tender to the touch. Is this something I should be concerned about? Yes, tomorrow morning I am going to make an appointment to get another mammogram.

To add, I haven't been feeling the greatest for some time now. Always a general malaise feeling. (48 years old).

Thanks for taking the time to read.

Heather

Have you discussed this with and been examined by a doctor? That seems the logical next step, with or without the mammogram.

I did mention to her during my last visit that I had some swelling in my under arm, she didn't seem too worried about it and I am not even sure if she actually heard me. This is typical with her, I haven't for years felt that I am getting the best care with her. I can go many months before I see my doctor again.

But I think I may make another appointment and see where this gets me.

    thanks

Hi, I just wanted to say sorry that you're feeling that way, I don't have too much input about the swelling issues but I'm 46 and tired a lot too, have you had your thyroid checked?

Actually bringing up thyroid up, I have been having some issues with my throat. Raspy voice, pain on left-side towards the front of neck. It actually feels like there is something there that shouldn't be. I have been letting that go as well for too long, been about a year now with that, perhaps something I should press on. My doctor will actually yell at her patients. I have seen and heard her do this often and I heard other's say their children have anxiety when they have to go to appointments. I know I am off topic here but I guess I am having a bit of a release with my frustrations.

Other wise I did book a mammogram! Jan 22 :)

That's good, I'm glad you're taking action for yourself now. I'm hypothryroid and I'm on medication however I'm always tired and can't lose weight and need to do more for myself to figure it all out too. It kinda sounds like you need a new Dr. though if they give you anxiety. LOL
