Hi, All.

I wanted to put this out for anyone facing this. I had surgery on Friday for either a possibly phyllodes or fibroadenoma. I asked the surgeon to go ahead and take the extra margin of tissue in case it is a phyllodes, so we can avoid going back to the OR. She removed an area the size of a walnut from my right breast, and did some tissue re arrangement. I have a vertical bandage just where my underarm begins that is about as long as my index finger. I was told to keep it dry/take sponge baths till Monday.

I have taken Monday off work, but feel I would likely be able to work. My job is a combo of desk/shipping, and I've already told them I can't lift. Through yesterday I've had a constant mild pain there, with moments of "ouch!" if I did something a bit much or moved wrong. They gave me an Rx for Toradol (anti inflammatory) but I read the side effects and decided not to take it. I took Tylenol the first night and nothing yesterday. I had no nausea after the general anesthesia and no severe pain in any of this.

Also, prior to surgery I had a wire localization, which was easy compared to the core biopsy. No pain beyond the local injection.

Yesterday morning my husband took me to the grocery store. He did all the work and cart pushing, but I was still tired after the trip.

Last night, which was 28 hrs after surgery, I tried to drive my daughter to the mall. I got down the street and still did not feel alert enough. Turned around and had 18 yr old son drive. I did not expect to feel the anesthesia for that long. Surely it will be fine today.

I just wanted to let anyone facing this know it's not too bad. I hope this helps. I get path results on Friday.
