I have found a small lump about 7mm long it started off firm and round and has now gone soft and oval shape it doesnt hurt but i have had tender breasts from time to time not around my cycle my right breast is noticably larger than my left but this has away been the case. I believe its movable as i can roll it between two fingers. I only found it 8 days ago. Im currently limited to medical support for another 2 weeks but have been told not to worry to much. (that was 2 days after i found it) its changed in 8 days and im really just not sure if im just stressing a little to much or what my next actions should be as im over seas.

Im 24, female breast cancer on my fathers side only. I havnt been sick in over 2 months. overall general good health. I do feel tired quiet often but that could be due to work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Hi Heidib1994-

We're very sorry you're experiencing this worry, but there could be lots of explanations so try not to worry too much! Breast changes are very common, and at your age, breast cancer would be rare. Our advice is to schedule an appointment with your gynecologist as soon as you're able. Keep in kind, the majority of breast lumps are benign, but it's definitely a good idea to get it checked out!

Could you please explain mammary lymph nodes (unsure if spelling is correct) i sore my doctor today and she suggested that its a possibility but from what I've read they only swell if you have had cancer. I cannot find any information on it at all. I know lymph node swell when youre ill but didnt know there was ones on the breast near sternum

Lymph nodes are normally found in the breast like they are elsewhere in the body and they react the same way to infections etc. Here is a graphic of their usual locations.

Thank you, Hopefully im just a little unwell and havnt realised it. Should i still be getting scans if it goes down? We only have one doctor on board (she hasnt had much to do with this area) and go ashore around once a month for no more than 4 days. Im mostly worried about needing a biopsy as i still have 7 months away from Australia and if thats required i have to return home.
