I had my first mammogram and one breast came back inconclusive and they want another mammogram and ultrasound. No one will tell me anything. This breast does ache from time to time but they said that was due to my fibrous breast tissue. I'm scared to death and nothing seems to be moving and I don't know how scared I should be.

Scared, it is extremely common to get called back after a first mammogram because there are no old films to compare to to know what your “normal” is. Often more mammogram views and/or an ultrasound clear things up and they say “ looks benign, see you next year!” Even if you should need a biopsy the vast majority come back benign-like 80%. It is WAY too soon to be getting scared. Take a deep breath and try to do some distracting things. People come here all the time who literally make themselves sick for weeks over stuff that turns out to be nothing

Thank you. My doctor is telling me virtually nothing because he's a replacement doctor since mine left the practice after ordering the routine screening. This one has actually never seen me and he's worried because this one breast aches and I've been on birth control for 20 years. He is old school and feels I should be concerned.
