Right breast itching

My first post. I'm 48 years old (today!), and I have been having some issues with my right breast since last August. So, for about four or five months.

It started off with areola itching, then the itching went deeper into the breast.

I did find a lump on the right side, but it's not where the itching is.

The lump is not firm, it's soft. Just like denser breast tissue.

Background info is that I do have a lot of uterine fibroids, and in my left breast, I've had cysts and a fibroadenoma in the past.

I finally got a mammogram and a clinical exam about two weeks ago, and they think I just have "lumpy breasts". I do have large breasts, so I did the 3D mammogram. Or whatever it's called.

Anyhow, the diagnosis was that there is no evidence of malignancy.

I'm happy about that, but I'm still concerned about the itching. It went away, and came back. It usually only itches at night.

Any thoughts? Google did not help because every time I Google about breast itching, I get links about cancer.

Ive had an intermittant itchy right nipple for years. My doctor said its common and normal. ive had 2 mammograms and 1 MRI and nothing was found. Ive learned to deal with/ignore it!

Try putting Aquaphor on your nipples. That stuff fixes all kinds of skin problems..

I had my left breast removed 2 years ago after a diagnosis of dcis. After 2 years, 2 mammographies, 1 CT and no findings on my right breast even though it bothers me because there is a soft lump and they keep telling me there is no malignancy, I hate my right breast, I want it gone to the point I would like to just cut it off. Just wondering if anyone else has been through this. Also would like to know why 2 years ago I was a birads 2 and this year it was birads 2?

I have the same problem. Itching in the right breast. I’ve had 3D mammogram and ultrasounds. They can’t find anything. It’s driving me crazy too and google does not help. I’ve been using eczema cream and it’s a little better but not gone. Mine started in August also.

Kati - it is my understanding if you are in the US and have had a single mastectomy, insurance will have to pay to remove the other breast for symmetry. If you're really upset, do check it out with your GYN or your prior BS
