Hello,

Male, 25. I posted here previously about a visible insect bite like lump in the breast region that had me worried for an inflamed lymph node, etc.

1. Lump#1: 2 inches from aerola, towards the armpit. Half cm dia, 2mm raised. Skin has blackened on top of it. Like an insect bite. First saw around 4 months ago. Has not subsided. I had pain in armpit and near the aerola region for some time, that made me google it. Also family history of this disease.

2. Lump#2: During self exam, I found another lump around an inch from the aerola, deep inside but can be felt if i tense the muscles underneath. I showed it to the doc, she suggested an ultrasound.

RESULT: The ultrasound guy said/wrote that Lump#2 it is a lipoma 0.6cm x 0.2cm.

The doc said that since this is a lipoma, she could refer me to some cosmetic surgeon to have it removed, I (being really glad that it was not cancer) declined her offer.

Those days I used to feel some burning/itching sensation near the site, but it subsided and stopped. The 2 lumps are around 2 inches apart.

But for the past month, the burning sensation has started again (few minutes a day). When I touch the spot that burns, its somewhere between the 2 lumps.

I have shown this to 2-3 docs who all say that lump#1 is a sebaceous cyst that wont subside without a surgery and the pain is normal. Nothing to worry about. Lump#2 is a lipoma, again nothing to worry about.

MY QUESTION:

1. How much should I be worried about misdiagnosis ?

2. What signs should I monitor ? I check the lumps weekly to see if they are growing.

3. Sometimes I feel that weekly prodding the area is making it tender. Has anyone experienced it ? That pressing too firmly during an exam can trigger a pain that lasts a few days ?

PS: No inversion/discharge. No X-Ray, no biopsy done.

Any suggestions ?
