RED SPOT ON LEFT BREAST worried about IBC!
Hi everyone,
A little bit about me I am 20 years old, 5'1", 180 pounds, relatively healthy. I've been to the breast surgeon many times due to a third nipple/it's removal. I recently just went back to him because underneath my breasts were hurting a lot which he told me to get a new bra with more support. (I am a 38 DD) About a month to 3 weeks before my appointment with him I noticed a small red bump or blotch a little bit away from my nipple on my left breast. It was there when he examined me but I wasn't sure if he noticed it (also I wasn't there for it so I didn't know if he even bothered to look at it). But now, almost 2 months later, it is still there. It doesn't hurt, doesn't discharge or anything. There's no lump underneath it. No cancer of any kind runs in my family. I have seen articles about Inflammatory Breast Cancer and have been working myself up something AWFUL about it. Both of my breast have pitted looking skin almost like little blackheads everywhere (it has been like that as long as I could remember) sometimes when the little blackheads would get bigger I would try to squeeze them out and stuff would come out, and then leave a little red mark. My breasts are large and have always hurt on and off even when I didn't have my period. It just seems like the red mark and the skin is really bothering me making me think it's IBC!
I apologize to everyone reading this if it's confusing, or TMI. I am so scared over this I stay up at night shaking. I am not sure if I should make ANOTHER appointment with the breast doctor since I just saw him a month ago. I'm afraid he'll look at me like I'm just another hypochondriac.
I didn't do a good job at documenting the red spot or when it started. It could have been due to me squeezing the blackhead like I always do but the red spot just isn't going away! Only getting lighter. I'm ball parking around 2 months ago it started.
If anyone has any advice or ANYTHING I would appreciate anything.

Hi there, Juliayy. We know it's hard not to worry, but it's unlikely that the spot you're describing is IBC. Inflammatory breast cancer is very aggressive, and would noticeably progress very quickly (often within days or a week). We would suggest seeing a dermatologist or your general doctor, it very well could be a skin issue which is very common!
