My 34 year old only daughter was diagnosed with IDC on November 26th after discovering a lump. She is scheduled to start chemo this Friday - AC-T. Surgery and then radiation. I am so worried for her. Honestly, this has brought me to my knees. So shocking---- no history. Her stage is 11 but her grade is 1. She is positive but it's all so confusing. I am learning as I go. I just want to support her in any way I can. She is shaving her head tomorrow.

January sending good thoughts your daughter's way (and to you). You will find a very generous community here who all understand the impact of a diagnosis, whether for yourself or someone you love. It sounds like your baby is a warrior and is meeting this challenge head on. And I know she will benefit completely with your love and support. I am sorry she has to go through this, especially at such a young age. My best to you both.

Sorry to hear this. I am 31 and was diagnosed in June. It's a rough road. I just finished AC and will start Taxol next week. I won't sugar coat it, the AC was brutal for me, however, I know several younger women who went through it with little side effects. I am a planner by nature, and it is really overwhelming to get all the information and keep track of all the appts in the beginning. It is best to just be in the present while going through this. I had surgery before chemo, and all I could think about was that there is so much to do! Surgery, chemo, radiation, then hormone therapy. When I finally stopped thinking ahead and just focused on what I am doing right now, it made it much more manageable for me. If that makes any sense.

I hope all goes well, and keep us updated!

Thank you for your reply. It's helpful to hear from all of you. They say AC can be difficult but your advice to take it one day at a time is good advice. Take good care x
