Double mastectomy reconstruction

Hello! I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction back in May 2018. Extremely painful but now healed. However, the skin seems to be very thin and wires are poking through. My surgeon already cut a couple that poked through the skin. I was just wondering if anyone that has had reconstruction has/had a similar problem? Thank you in advance and I pray that everyone is doing well.

    Hi Happycat! We want to welcome you to our community here at BCO. We're sorry to hear you're having these issues so many months after your surgery! Has your surgeon expressed any concern at all? Thin skin following reconstruction isn't uncommon, but hopefully there's something that can be done, and we're sure other members of the community will chime in with their advice!
