Biopsy today, waiting for results
I had my first mamma in August, results stated heterogenously dense which may obscure small masses. There arrears 0.4 cm grouped calcifications in the retroareolar R breast 2 cm from nipple. I followed up 12/21 (I honestly kind of blew off the results since I was dealing with some health issues with my son).
Follow up mammo showed grouped heterogenous calcifications approx 6 x 6mm on the R, BIRAD 4 C.
I had my stereo core biopsy this morning, I'm replacing my ice packs every hour. I'm sore and feel a bit "off". I was told that I may have results as early as tomorrow depending on my PCPs holiday schedule. I've done my research and know that even a positive diagnosis, things will be OK, I am still anxious. Thinking good thoughts for everyone going through this.

Amersamy, sorry you are in the waiting stage, It is hard. I found ice packs to be my friend after my biopsy, they really helped with any discomfort I had. I am glad they may get your results in quickly, and I am hoping you hear benign results. But you are correct, if you do get the positive result you can face it. Let us know when you get the results. This community is a wealth of knowledge and support. We are here for you

hi there,
I just wanted you to know that I too had a biopsy yesterday. I hope to have stilts tomorrow. In fact, I see that a pathology report was generated this evening in my patient portal but I am unable to view the details.
Fingers crossed for us both

Any updates from either of you? I just had a core biopsy yesterday too so anxiously awaiting results also. What was yours for Mrs G? I have an area of scattered calcifications, they were going to biopsy 2 areas but only decided to do 1 after I got in there saying the other looked benign. I actually have no bruising, no swelling or anything.
-
nothing yet. Losing my mind!! I have a 2cm right breast palpable lum
-
My doctor called a little while ago, mine is benign, he is referring me to a breast surgeon for possible removal. I'm still waiting for the written report. I don't process the information as well when it's verbal compared to written. I opened a bottle of champagne with my lunch
Benign thoughts for those still waiting!!
-
So the calcifications were benign? I'm confused as to removal? They're so small, how do they even remove? I guess my mom had a tiny little lumpectomy too though.
-
I'm a little confused by that as well, I want to read the report. I have such tiny breasts that even the biopsy caused a dent, so I don't know how much more they would remove.
-
keep us posted. I have the same thing, I had scattered calcs and waiting for results too.
-
My little 2 cents for anyone having a biopsy would be to purchase a few extra of the extra small gel packs. They sent me home with 3, but it didn't seem like the icing was as effective as it could have been. I'm an Orthopedic Nurse by trade so we are all about icing

I didn't think that I was that nervous about getting results but every time my phone rings, I jump.
-
well it’s 4:54 and no phone call
