Bleeding from nipple after reconstruction

Hi ladies,

I had a single mastectomy on my left breast 10 days ago, with immediate round silicon implant below the muscle. They told me to use bacetracin on the nipple with a soft gauze on the top. I have been doing this for the past few days, no problem. I changed the gauze today and noticed dry blood on my nipple, when I cleaned it with alcohol pad, it started to bleed. I called the office and they told me this was perfectly normal. I have an appt tomorrow to take my drain out, they said they will check it then and I didn't have to go in today.

Has anyone else had similar experience? I am terrified of getting an infection.
