Hello All!

I was wondering if anyone out there has ever known if anyone who has had bc twice in the same breast?

I was diagnosed in 2009 with IDC, Stage IIB. I elected to have a double mastectomy. My mom has bc when she was 49, and had to have several lumpectomies before a clean margin was obtained. I knew from that time on what I would do if ever in that situation. I was 39 when that time came. They followed that with chemo and 5 years of Tamofixian. Went in every 6 mo then back to once a year.

Long story short, I didn’t educate myself very well, because I thought with the mastectomy it couldn’t come back in the breast. A few weeks ago, was randomly itching and felt something, had my husband feel it to make sure I wasn’t crazy🙁. Made an apt and went in the following Monday. Went in for ultrasound following day, biopsy the next. Last Thursday dr called and said it’s bc again. She said it was the same as before Grade 3, IDC. At this point are waiting for insurance co to approve PET scan then to Oncologist to see exactly what we are dealing with.

Needless to say, it wasn’t any easier to hear the second time than it was the first. I’m rambling here, but just wondering if anyone out there had heard of this??!!?
