Hi Im seeking for help im experiencing extreme anxiety. im 23 years old

2 months ago I got an ultrasound showed an oval mass, paralell to the skin with macrobulated clear margin and located next to an extended duct (birads 4a). My doctor says 98% this is benign but she needs to biopsy it because Papilloma cant be excluded, and if its actually papilloma I will need surgery as Papilloma can become cancer over the long term. However if its benign she will just watch it every 6 months for two years

The FnA comes back says benign, no papillary cells so she said I can be watch every six months. The pathology says "The presence of Benign Epithelial cells and stromal cells", conclusion: Concur with Benign Breast Disease.

I tried and asked what kind of tumor Ive got (fibroadenoma or sth else). She said there are tumors that dont have definitive features and benign is all she can say. She also says come back to the clinic right immediately if it becomes palpable (this kind of freak me out as I think shes not sure of her diagnosis)

However I seek for different opinions all say its possibly a Papilloma (because the image of the extended duct) . And Im worrying ab the accuracy of FNA

My question is: Anyone ever experienced a situation like me? What should I do? Because I dont wanna live with a papilloma which like doctor said it could become cancerous or hiding cancer sth.

Any advice or information will be deeply appreciated by me

Good morning and I'm so sorry this is making you anxious. It does sound like you got a good result of a benign growth so try to focus on that. It doesn't seem to be a papiloma, but even if it was, the American Cancer Society says one papiloma does not increase breast cancer risk. Multiple papilomas do, but even then the increased risk is small.

If possible, try to put this out of your mind and use your energy to get healthier. Exercise, eating vegetables, and cutting back on alcohol all reduce the risk of all kinds of cancer. That's where I'd focus if I were you - or if I was giving my 23-year-old self advice. :)

    All best wishes.

If whatever it is isn’t palpable now, what prompted the ultrasound

Hi Georgia thank you so much for your kind words

@Melissa: I live in Vietnam, here our company has to do health check up yearly for employees. Through the check up I learnt I had a lipoma in my left breast through ultrasound. Found a breast specialist and she told me its actually a tumor not a lipoma like my first doctor said
