Stage 4 Mets with new undiagnosed pain; questions?
hi all; im avoiding going to my doctor for several reasons; but mostly as my daughter is coming home for a month from college in SanDiego I live in Boston! I'm afraid to go and I know this is classic avoidance and bit of denial. Last time I had pain in LUQ I was diagnosed with Stage 4; I'm pretty sure there's something wrong but I'd rather suffer through as long as I can do not to ruin anyone's holiday and hopefully my daughter will go back to college in mid-January without worrying about me.
I'm actually having LUQ x 2 weeks & now RUQ pain x 1 week & must call docs tomorrow regarding this; it is lateral and burning/stabbing nature; I think it started as intermittent/colicky—but now feels like it's constant and chronic. I have achy body throughout and chronic Rt neck arthritic pain; but these pains in my abdomen are different; bowels are moving. Best to all!
Last question if anyone dealt with similar issues with teens once diagnosed with stage 4. My 17 yo son is going through depression/anxiety is in therapy was inpatient (Dx worsening depression due to increased marajuana use) recently for SI and is using marajuana to self-medicate. He also appears to have 24/7 internet/cellphone addiction as well. His grades at school are tanking; of course he's at private school and they don't have to comply with state/federal laws. He's a high school senior and of course I'm horrified and unexperienced with this? Any help would be appreciated with all of the abov.
Hope everyone has nice holiday season and feels well

Bally it sounds like maybe the liver causing pain but it's just a guess. I have a nephew with similar problems. He's 20 and the weed use started 6 years ago. For the past 2-3 years it's been constant. He has wrecked 4 cars in 4 years. None of knows what can be done. The good thing is he does have a job that he never misses a day and is doing very well there. I have my opinions about the way he was brought up but I can't do anything about that except try to have as much good influence as I can. Usually it seems like it's in one ear and out the other, but someday he will remember the things I try to teach him, the same way I remember all of the things my parents taught me. I might be gone by that time but it's not important that I see it happen. Kids are so hard these days. I think they always were but nowadays we worry that they will lose their very lives by learning everything the hard way. I think it's been awhile but I just saw this post. I hope the pain is sorted out and you are feeling better.
