BCO has a lot of information about breast cancer on the main site. Here is a page and links about Paget's Disease https://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/types/pagets It is a cancer found in the nipple and ducts around the nipple and often associated with DCIS (like your mom) or IDC. There is also information and a forum here on the community page about DCIS.Start here! https://www.breastcancer.org/symptoms/types/dcis/d...

I had high grade DCIS, like your mom. I had a lumpectomy, radiation and because the tumor was ER/PR+, I took tamoxifen to block the estrogen from feeding any remaining breast cancer cells. A lumpectomy or mastectomy will probably be recommended for your mom. I don't know anything about Paget's but DCIS is stage 0. The breast cancer cells are not yet capable of spreading outside of the ducts. Some DCIS - of lower grade can just be watched and surgery not performed, but not high grade (grade 3), it should be removed surgically . If only DCIS is found, It is very possible that your mom will not need chemotherapy.
