Freaking out - pain in thigh

Hi all,

I need some advice. I’ve been having some pain - like a pinch or stabbing feeling once in awhile - in my left thigh over the last 1-2 weeks. It’s not worsening over time, or worse at night. But there does appear to be some swelling over the same area. I had bloodwork which came back totally normal, and an ultrasound and x-ray which showed nothing remarkable.

I’m going to call my onco’s nurse tomorrow to see what she suggests, but I wanted to check in here: did anyone have anything similar and it turned out to be nothing sinister?

I had hip pain that throbbed for a long time, and it turned out to be bursitis. Most bone pain turns out NOT to be mets, but if it persists beyond 2 weeks, it definitely should be evaluated.

HolaSandy...so sorry you are going through this. It sounds more like neuropathy from the chemo than bone mets. Just my opinion. Good Luck and keep us posted.

I have the same thing going on in my left upper thigh. My doctor told me it was due to the arimidex. It is an annoying pain like somebody just stabbed me in the thigh and its random. I just make sure I keep telling my Onc about it. Scans did not show anything.

thanks so much everyone for your feedback. I spoke with the cancer centre today. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant (stopped tamoxifen in october with fertility specialist and oncologist’s blessings) so if my test comes back negative next week, we will do a bone scan

thanks to everyone - bone scan was not indicative of bone Mets. I’m hoping my onco will have some insight into what the pain may be when I speak with her on the 14th. In any case, the pain does seem to be lessening.
