are Air expanders radiation compatible?

I just met with plastic surgeon and he’s recommending using air expanders with a remote rather than saline. I will need radiation post surgery. Surgeon says the cancer center where I will get chemo won’t do radiation with this type of expander “for political reasons” but other radiology places will. What don’t I know, wise women? Can anyone enlighten me on this topic

I was diagnosed a 2 weeks ago so it’s all new. Just wanted to see if anyone else has come up against this issue.
