esophagitis from Tamoxifen - very worried

I've had stomach irritation and problems for years but was able balance out taking acid reducing medication with pills that aggravate my stomach. Such as needing to take a muscle relaxant or even antibiotics for a short period of time. However, the Tamoxifen (or any medication with stomach side effects) is just too much on my stomach on a daily basis. Up until now when checked by endoscopy (last Dec and 11 years before that) there was no damage present. Symptoms from time to time but no damage.

Today, I got the results of my PET CT scan as a follow up to melanoma. I did take some Flexeril before the PET CT and the Breast MRI in the last week to deal with the pain of the exams. Everything ok on the melanoma and the breast cancer front. But the scan mentioned that they could see esophagitis. Besides my lining getting thick my stomach was another issue that I planned to raise when I'm recovered from the hysterectomy surgery and going back on Tamoxifen. I don't see how I can go back on either Tamoxifen or an AL with serious stomach problems. I'm freaking out because I'm not sure what to do, it's Saturday night and none o my doctors are available until Monday. I will contact my Oncologist and Surgeon on Monday.

I don't even know if I can tolerate the anesthesia and pain medication during the surgery. Does anyone else have these kind of issues? And if so, what did you do?
