Last week I went for an ultrasound on what I felt as a small lump on the right side of my neck by the large neck muscle that runs down your neck. These are the results that I got back in an email

“Nurse Practioner- who reviewed the results/imaging . There is a small nodule too small to characterize, if increases in size will order CT scan.“

I’m waiting to hear back mire info but wondering does anybody understand what this might mean should I be overly concerned?

Ask to pick up a copy of the results so you don’t just get one person’s interpretation

Have you considered seeing an ENT to give you an ultrasound of your thyroid? I had half of my thyroid removed due to a large nodule--noncancerous but still the size was too big to leave and risk growing. The ultrasound of your neck is less of an ordeal than a CT scan. There is some associated between breast cancer and thyroid issues. So, try not to worry and get the right expert to examine your neck.
