22 weeks pregnant with 1cm fixed mass

Hi everyone. It's my first time posting and I'm freaking out and just looking to see if anyone has been through this. I found a small lump on my right breast and my midwife found it also. She has referred me to the breast clinic but unfortunately with the holidays I am still waiting to hear from them. On my midwife's report it says breast nodular c/w pregnancy changes with 1 cm fixed mass noted deep in right axillary tail. Everything I have read says fixed mass is really really bad. Anyone gone through anything like this??? I am 34 years old and 22 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child

The vast majority of breast lumps are benign. Try not to get ahead of yourself intil you know more from testing

As Melissa said, try to stay calm until you know more and have some testing done. We know it's hard to not jump to conclusions, but it's true that most lumps are benign -- stay positive and keep us posted on what you find out!

Depending where it's located, and maybe other factors too, a lump can feel fixed when it's really not.

Medical professionals, even oncologists, can only tell so much with a manual examination - that's why we have all the other screenings. Something that seems suspicious can be nothing. And vice versa - the gynecologist who found my lump wasn't concerned about it because to her it felt like it was moving in a way she didn't associate with cancer. But she appropriately acted with caution and referred for more tests.

I can imagine this is crazy making. Probably it really is nothing. Hang in there as best you can until next steps.

If it something, you'll have caught it early. For early breast cancer, the most important treatment is usually surgery and that's not counter indicated by pregnancy. You'll have a whole team of medical professionals helping you make the best decisions.
