Waiting and waitinf with no actual results
a few weeks ago i started feeling a lot of pain in my boobs (my right side in particular and more so than usual) I brushed it off to "my monthly visitor is about to be here". About 2 days later my bag brushed my boob and i was knocked to floor in agonizing pain, where i then noticed a large bump (about the size of a golf ball) on my areola just above my nipple, my pcp squeezed it and got a bunch of nasty puss/pimple like stuff out and a bunch of blood...which qas extremely painful. I then saw an obgyn (only one i could find in my area that took medicaid) the next day and decided it was an abcess but needed to determine why. He put me on cephalexin 3x a day for 7 days, took a culture of it and set me for an apt 10 days later. The abcess area healed but there is still a bead size hard lump there. However the day i finished my antibiotics i called and told them i finished but now had pain on my boob the right side of my right boob, my boob was scaly (almost peeling or eczema looking and only on that boob with no reason to be) and anytime i was cold or it was cold i feel sharp pain and burning sensations in that boob. They set me for an apt the next day. They said the culture from the "abcess" came back good.. no infection or any abnormality. He did a quick not very thorough exam and barely any questions and set me for a mamogram and referral to a breat surgeon. About 5 days later i went to get my mammogram which after they said my boobs were really dense and its hard to see and that next time i should see if my Medicaid or insurance would cover a tomo (3d ultrasound) and then said they need to do an ultrasound which we did then. About an hour after all that i pulled into work and felt a bit of coldness and wet on my boob and looked and there was blood on my actual nipple.. enough to be really concerned... well blood coming from any nipple without being pregnant or breast feeding is really worrying . I callsd my obgyn and left a message.. which i still have had no response.. the next day i went to the apt with the breast surgeon where it seemed they had no knowledge of what started this whole process for me in the 1st place or anything else..then said my mammogram and ultrasounds looked normal and etc.. i told then about the blood and showed a picture... to which he started saying that it could be cominf from a duct but couldnt locate it now and it would be extremely difficult to localize and pin point without it being inflamed at that moment... he then just set me for an apt about 7 weeks later and if he cant find it then then i could possinly have an mri done... and here i am...
I have read about pagets and feel i have pretty much all the symptons but i also feel like with everything thats happened especially the blood that there could be something wrong that isnt being detected and im worried that in 7 weeks anything could happen especially without knowing anything at all about what is going on.
I feel i should get a 2nd opinion or find someone who is well known and specializes more in this area but i dont know where to start how to go about it and if medicaid will cover it or if anyone will take it. I feel alone and scared and really clueless especially on what and how to do this or anything really!
