9cm heterogenous nodule with associated calcifications in the left lobe of my thyroid that was discovered during the chest/neck CT. I had an ultrasond of my thyroid 11/27. Two TR4 and 2 TR3 nodules were found. I am being cheduled for a fine needle biopsy of the TR4 nodules.

Well, glad that you are progressing with the Thyroid investigation. Good luck with the biopsies.

safetyguy: thyroid cancer seems to be very commonly associated with breast cancer. I am just waiting for the surgical consult. Tirads 4 are still very likely benign. But your nodule at 9 cm is very large. Are you having symptoms. Regardless of biopsy results, they main recommend removal of your thyroid. It is overwhelming to have both to worry about, but your thyroid presents only a minor challenge compared to breast cancer.

Typo should have been 3cm. Both were benign. I have to have labs redone and another ultrasound in 6 months because on of the smaller nodules may be a parathryroid tumor and causing my mild hypercalcemia. avg 10.7 over the last 2 years.

The other good news was my the ONCOTYPE DX score of my breast tumor was 11. So no chemo!!

That's a better size for the nodule, and good news that it's benign.

No chemo is also good news. Will you have radiation?

Well, not a bad outcome. Let us know what the MO says. Most men have few side effects with tamoxifen, which hopefully be toy case too.

    Best wishes.
