Hello guys,

I am new to the BLOG! My name is Sherell I am 32 years old with stage 2B Tripoli negative breast cancer. I am all done my 16 chemo treatments and went in and got my tattoos two days ago for radiation to begin in about 2 to 3 week. I just have a question that I shouldn't have been but was afraid to ask due to fear of the response. My tumor was removed prior to chemo and was on the right side. However I was given 6 tattoos at my appointment one of which was placed under my left arm somewhat close to my breast. Can anyone tell me why that was done? Did they see something in scans ? Should I be concerned? HELP

Good morning and please don't worry! I had a tattoo there also. They are simply markers to help the techs line up the machine correctly; they don't indicate anything about the cancer itself.

Are you getting treatments lying down? I was super nervous at first but RADS are super fast and quickly become routine. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you so much 😊. Yes I will be laying down with arm above my head. I am super nervous as well. I am trying to return back to work during RAD

Yes, each tat helps the techs line up the machine. During my rads I got a few more. Nothing to worry about.
