Pain months later

I was diagnosed in May and had a lumpectomy and 6 lymph nodes removed in June. I then went through 6.5 weeks of radiation which ended in mid-September. For the last week or so I have been in a lot of pain under my arm and on the side of my breast (where the lumpectomy took place). Any advice on what to do? Or why it is happening? Should I go see my doctor?

    Hi codeyee:

Am wondering whether you may have developed a hemotoma at your surgery site? About 2 weeks after I finished radiation, I developed a hematoma under my lumpectomy scar. It was quite painful for about 2 months. I did go see my doctor (who diagnosed the hematoma and then sent me for an US to confirm). The US tech told me they could aspirate the hematoma to reduce the pain I was experiencing, but it didn't come to that. By the time I was two months out from radiation, the hematoma had started to shrink and the pain resolved itself.
