Zoladex Injection

I am at my wits end! I received my first Zoladex injection October 25. It’s a 28 day cycle. 2 days later I get a headache. I’ve had it ever since. Constant pain in my neck, blood pressure is out of control ( been to dr twice just over that ) and now today I’m so dizzy I can’t do anything but lay down. I will never get another injection. They are gonna have to come up with a plan B. On a good note, so far no hot flashes or any of that stuff they said I would get. But thank god I don’t. I can barely deal with this other stuff. So my question to you ladies that’s had this injection.. how long does it take to leave my system? Yesterday isn’t soon enough!! I wanna go get the pellet removed. I just want to feel normal.

angel- Sorry you’re not doing well with the shot. I just had my first zoladex in October too, so I’m probably not much help. But I was on Lupron, which is similar, for 10 months. It took almost 3 months for that all to wear off. Are you also taking Tamoxifen or an AI? Sometimes it’s hard to tease apart which side effects are from what.

Also, did you have rads? That tightened up my shoulder and chest and eventually caused neck pain and headaches. PT made a world of difference there. And the 6 month mark is prime time for problems according to my PT. Could just be coincidence with the shot.

    Hope you feel better!

I am premenopausal so I’m not on anything yet. They want to put me on Arimidex but after 2 months of the Zoladex. I did do rads. It ended the end of September. Never thought about that causing the neck pain. I just know it all started about 2 days after the injection. Headache was so bad last night I got no sleep so I called my MO this morning to see about getting this pellet removed. Waiting on them to call back. I’ll ask them about the rads and neck pain. If PT would help with that I’m all for it.

Thank you for your reply. I’m hoping to get something figured out soon. Not looking forward to starting the AI after all this. I seem to get every SE of everything I have to do or take.
