The good news is I’m not crazy, the bad news...I’m not crazy

Long story short, (see “6 years later and finally getting mammogram” thread for whole story) several years ago I thought I felt a lump, went to BS, was quickly dismissed and told there’s nothing there. Too embarrassed to pursue it any further. Started having some weird sensations in breast so went to GP, had a well woman check today and she could feel the lump. It really is there and not just in my imagine. It’s bigger than it used to be but not gigantic. I would think if it was a tumor it would have grown considerably in the last 6 years. So I’m reassured by that and weirdly relieved that she could feel it and it hasn’t been all in my head this whole time. I’m waiting to hear back from the hospital for my mammo appt. Love and blessings to all!

Oh my gosh! This was the exactly my response at my appointment yesterday. I also was dismissed for a lump year ago, so when I noticed a pretty big one, I ignored it for the last 8 months until I couldn't stop thinking about it. When I went in yesterday and the NP confirmed she felt it also, and ordered a mammogram and ultrasound I cried. Cried to know I wasn't crazy, then cried to know that I wasn't crazy. Scared waiting 7 days until the diagnostic tests. I was fine for the last 8 months, but now that I know it "could" be something, I'm terrified.

Just a quick update. Seen a BS today, I just gotta say I absolutely LOOOOOVED her! Such a different experience from the BS I seen 6 years ago. She was able to feel the lump without me having to show her where, she listened to me and she cared. She heard me. She's not overly concerned but said she definitely needs to have a better look and due to my dense breasts is scheduling an ultrasound. Hope everyone is able to have a blessed and happy Thanksgiving!!
